Ela midella
    The ela midella or Samudra- phala (or in
Tamil, Kolaiadampu) is different only in the leaves. They are not as large as
the Diya midella Leaves. 
     The flowers are the same as other midella
trees, but the petals Are samall. Here the fruits are astringent and are used
for a sore thort.
      The seeds are used as a tonic that
promotes the removal of catarrhal matter and phlegm from the bronchial tubes.
This tree is also known as the Indian oak. The Indian Oak tree like other oak
trees, contains the same medicinal prpperties.
The parts of the Midella tree are rich in tannin which make them capable of stopping bleeding and and healing tissues that have been damaged as a result of injury and infection. This plant is also known as Blood water.
       It is mentioned in old medicinal texts,
that it should be taken internally in small quantities and externally in larger
doses, for all cases of haemorrhage such as nose bleeding, cuts and so
on.Adecoction can be prepared with the Midella bark for heavy period, piles, incontinence,
Varicose vains, eczema, and for bleeding gums as a mouth wash. 
   To relieve , the pulverized Midella seeds
are used as snuff.
     The Indian oak tree is the same as other
